Local Car Show Event

Alright, so yesterday I was out at this local car show event all day. It was pretty alright, got some pics to throw up so y'all can see. The day was pretty chill, got a call early from one of the car crew peeps, fought a hangover, got some McD's, and met up with some guys before the event. It was a pretty decent gathering, and there were lotsa nice cars at the show. Well that's about it for now.

Some awesome old school cars at the meet before the event.
This Viper was just chillin' there.
Craziness.
Lotsa bikes there, I'm quite sure that all of them belonged to the Ruff Riders crew.
This was one clean Accord.
Kickin' it old school!
Loved this M3!
I know it's hard to see, but this Civic had some pink wheels on it.

Empty Pockets, Stopped Watches, and Blown Egos.

This is pretty much our introductory post. So I'll cut to the chase and let you know what we and this blog are about.

The title says a lot about this post, so I'll just break it down.

The 'Empty Pockets' represent all of the money that will be poured into the car and never seen back. Too many times will a car guy put dollar after dollar into a car, knowing that he/she will never see it back, and that's okay. For some it's actually about showing off how much has been put into it, for others it's a measure of determination and will. Whatever the case, 'Empty Pockets' will always be a part of the car scene, in one way or another.

The 'Stopped Watches' is all about the time that is 'wasted' on building and working on cars. Most people in life seem to think that there's a formula to it, that you have to go to school, get your degree, get a job, yada-yada, but that's not it. For people in the car scene it's about having a genuine good time, letting others know that it's okay to blow time and money on a dream, even when you'll never see any of it back. More than this though, there's a double meaning, and it's simple: the ridiculous amount of time that can be spent building the car of our dreams and then having only seconds to watch it taken from us. For those of us that experience the loss of a dream, nothing is ever the same again, it's the longest second, hour, day, week, month, year, or whatever of our life. The pain from the initial loss never subsides, it's like a loved one that has passed on: instead of being sad that they're gone we'd rather be happy that they had came into our lives in the first place.

The 'Blown Egos' part of this post is pretty self explanatory. In the car scene there will always be people saying, "You're never good enough, you're never fast enough, and you're never clean enough." For the people that do that, "Fuck you." And for the people that'll do it and hide behind the fuckin' Internet, "Fuck you hard with a big stick." It's not bad enough that most of our family and friends don't understand the obsession with cars that others in our own culture have to criticize us for what we want to do to our rides. That shit ain't cool, period.

So, in a nutshell, this blog and those of us who are running it right now are all about the real car scene. Not just the glamorous side, but the hard side too. Not just the late nights and wins, but the long days and losses. This one really is for all of us who live by the motto, "No fucks given." Cause honestly, in this scene, it has to be like that sometimes.
